Why is there a statue of Albert Pike in front of the Capitol building?

He was high up in Masonry and the statue was originally in front of the Scottish Rite section of Masonry. Others say he was a member of the Klu Klux Klan. Many have shot at and hit the statue. It is part of the U.S. Park Service and it would take an act of congress to have it taken down. There are those who have written he was not part of theKlu Klux Klan. At this time there has never been a successful clue to his part in any Klu Klux Klan activity.
