Last week i told my husband i wanted time to think?

i live in colorado, 798 miles away from any family that i have. i miss them very much. i am not happy in colorado, i moved here for him and his mom. his mom is really sick and she needs help. well i told him i wanted time to think and i was gonna get a hotel room. (no one else to go stay with). he flew off the handle and really didn't want to give me the space i needed at the moment. he was gonna drop me off in boulder (30 miles away from ne where that i recognized) and put me on a bus and send me back home. should he have given me the time or was i out of my mind asking for it in a hotel room?
