Skinny tie for a wedding?

planning to wear a 3 piece black suit with a grey dress shirt. my question is, would a skinny tie be appropriate? it's silver and black with criss crossed diagonal patters (from h&m). would it be appropriate to go tieless? or should i go with a plain black tie? i might just leave the vest out all together. what's the best way to do it
