Serving, "survival food," on a date?

Just in case something bad happens in the world, I keep a stash of, "survival food," under my bed. This includes things like canned tuna, canned chilly, and canned fruit tail. Nothing really bad has happened yet, and all of these cans have, "use by" dates. Would it be wrong to whip up some tuna cerole for a date using this food? (None of it is expired, but it's close.)
