Did anyone oppose George W. Bush as President because of his religion?

Bush was a fairly devout Christian. Certainly, he did have critics and opponents due to his domestic policies and his starting the war in Iraq. However, was anyone anti-Bush because of the MERE FACT he was a fairly serious Christian? Was some of the anti-Bush sentiment due to an anti-Christian bias?
